Fandom Resources
- The Three Laws of Fandom - If you wish to take part in any fandom, you need to accept and respect these three laws.

- Fanlore - a comprehensive wiki of fandom history, covering canon and fanon.
- Yes, you are allowed. - You are allowed to write the fic you want, rather than the fic you feel obligated to write.

it might be beneficial for us all to work on our abilities to find & share fic via avenues other than Ao3 tags

Hit the 'explore' and 'local' options to check them out in advance, and ask friends for recommendations. Check out A Super Simple Guide to Fandom Masto by asya.

Writing Tools β
- novelWriter - a markdown-like text editor designed for writing novels and larger projects of many smaller plain text documents.
- Manuskript - a free and open source writing app (like Scrivener) that works with markdown files, which means your files can be edited with any editor that can handle plain text. Futureproof and no vendor lock in.
- Obsidian - imagine a combo notes app, personal wiki, file organiser that works with markdown files, and can be as straightforward or as complicated as you want it to be. I use it to keep track of the vast number of writing snippets, WiPs, plot bunnies, and outlines on my hard drive. There's a desktop and a mobile app, and all your stuff stays within your control and can be edited with any other app that can handle plain text files. NO VENDOR LOCK IN. FUCK YEAH.

- JustWrite - Focus only on writing, forget about spelling or grammar. Don't edit or delete what you write. Just keep writing.

- Mastodon is a decentralised, federated, community-owned, ad-free microblogging software. Different mastodon servers (aka instances) can talk to each other, so you only need an account on one to interact with the entire network (aka 'the fediverse').
- Mastodon is only one of many different software packages to make up the entire network (aka 'the fediverse'). Others include Pixelfed, Calckey, and Akkoma.
