DO NOT put my pseud in a public bookmark
I will anon or orphan before I ever delete fic, but if I ever DO need to go invisible, my pseud in the bookmark might necessitate actual deletion, and I'd rather not have to do that.

Some people on AO3 have odd bookmarking habits. Of course there's the public star ratings (not cool), but also, there's this weird thing where they put the fic title and the author's pseud (username, authorname, whatever you like to call it) in the bookmark.
Yeah, okay. Sometimes fic gets deleted, and it's frustrating as hell to go through your bookmarks and see 'this work has been deleted' and you're like, gee, which one was it?
So I get it. I do. BUT, as someone who recently changed their AO3 pseud to avoid RL/Fandom crossover, it's very important that this is never done in a public bookmark.
By making that bookmark public, you're removing the author's right to disassociate themselves from the work without deleting it. Orphaning will not remove that association if the pseud is in a public bookmark. Adding the work to an anonymous collection will not remove the association if the pseud is in a public bookmark.
Essentially, bookmarkers who do this, are FORCING authors to delete, rather than orphan or anon, if they need to disassociate themselves from the work.
Bookmarkers can still put this information in a bookmark. If they would simply make the bookmark private, it solves the problem.
So, yeah. DO NOT put my pseud in a public bookmark. Don't do it to other authors, either. It's not cool.
