Y U NO QRT

Mastodon doesn't have QRTs, and that's okay.

If you're new to Mastodon, you'll be discovering there's a ton of things that are, actually, quite different from twitter. Many people miss QRTs the most, in fact some people get kinda nasty about it (but I won't link, they're not worth it).

@Gargron, the creator of Mastodon, has flat out said 'no' to QRTs:

Not much else I can say, he's pretty much covered it. Yes, I had fun with QRTs on twitter, but (except for a bit of casual ageism) I wasn't a target. Yes, they can be used for good as well as evil. But read the toot above again. He's right.

Imagine you're on twitter in 2009. There are no native RTs, let alone QRTs. We had to do all that crap manually. So if we wanted to QRT someone, we had to really mean it.

You know what we did back then? We talked to each other a fuckton more. Very few people went around harassing fans because it wasn't worth the effort.

If you want to read more about shit Twitter has that Mastodon doesn't which is A Good Thing Actually, check out 4 Twitter features Mastodon is better for not having.
