I’ve decided to do a periodical (weekly to start, we’ll see how that goes 🤣) Fandom Roundup type thing, where I’m sort of accountable to myself with what I’m reading, writing, watching, but also collect some fandom happenings from around Social Media.

I haven’t read anything this week, because GoT is eating my face, but Mouse posted this epic wincest reclist on twitter (yes my fic is in there no I’m not biased I swear 🤣)

Writing

Little bits on my wincest somno fic, it’s close to finished I think. There’s no real plot to this fic just a long series of somno sex scenes IDEK It might end up in the Forbidden Fruit Zine but I’m not sure it’s really of the quality necessary so IDK about that either.

Little bits on my vamp!Sam fic. I’ve been sitting on the first scene of this fic for a while now, I picked it up again a week or so ago. It’s supposed to be a kind of R&J thing IDK. We’ll see.

I dropped the two prompts I claimed for the current round of the BroBoneBang cos I suck and what I was writing wasn’t working. Sigh. Writing is hard, yo.

Oh. I promised a wincest fic if wincest won the problematic ship war It won 🤣. So I’m on the hook for a fic now 🤣.

Watching

I’m watching Game of Thrones for the first time ever. I’m basically EATING the entire series in one go, averaging around half a season every 24 hours.

Yes I’ve had some late nights.

My fave is Arya. She’s fucking awesome. I like Tyrion too. I’m conflicted over Jaime’s redemption arc, like really confused as to how he went from complete asshole to semi-decent dude so quick. Like all his assholery was located in his right hand and once he lost it; redemption. So weird.

Was I supposed to feel sorry for Cersei during her walk of atonement?

So there was a lot of threads about how it was going to go down (or how it wasn’t), considering no one had heard from any of the admins for ages, and the Fictionpress twitter account hadn’t been updated in a whole year.

Advice proliferated on what to do re: crossposting your own fic and archiving others fic before the site collapsed for a good couple days.

And then BOOM, the Fictionpress account started posting. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A YEAR. Coincidence? Maybe 🤷

The ‘AO3 should have an algorithm’ wank has resurfaced as ‘AO3 should have a FYP’.

What a bloody nightmare that would be. Luckily, we’ll never have to deal with it because AO3 would never do it.

In other Wincest/Supernatural Fandom news (of course it’s Supernatural, was there ever a fandom with more wank), there’s a certain Big Bang event that is supposedly open to the entire Supernatural Fandom and accepts ALL PAIRINGS, but has hidden away in one of their rules that no incest is allowed.

Doesn’t sound like it’s open to all pairings to me. Wincest is one of the two most popular pairings in the entire fandom. For an ‘open to all’ event to essentially exclude half the fandom via a smallprint rule seems… I dunno. Exclusionist. Petty?

For fucks sake. Just say in big bold print on your front page NONE OF THOSE ICKY WINCEST SHIPPERS ALLOWED and be done with it. No need to be shy.
