Roundup for Week 42 of 2022

Having second thoughts about NaNoWriMo. 1766 (or whatever) words per day is A LOT for me now. I was diagnosed with MS in 2020 and I don't talk about it much but the fatigue is real. I feel like I'm dealing with a whole lot more now than I was the last time I successfully won NaNo.

These posts are my weekly periodic 'round up' of the things I've been up to this week lately.

Reading

Made sure I read some fic this week. Well, I did at the start. God, I'm rubbish at this 🤣

I've also been trying to read some original fic in my genre (you know, short, smutty), but god, fanfiction is so much better 🤷

Writing

Having second thoughts about NaNoWriMo. 1766 (or whatever) words per day is A LOT for me now. I was diagnosed with MS in 2020 and I don't talk about it much but the fatigue is real. I feel like I'm dealing with a whole lot more now than I was the last time I successfully won NaNo.

I do still write, and I do still WANT to write, but it's so much harder than it was before. So I'm trying to come up with something I can do and achieve at, rather than forcing myself into something that'll either hurt me significantly or break my heart when I fail/quit.

I did dig up a complete but unedited fic from the depths of my hard drive this week, edited it, and then posted it. So there's that.

Snowed In
Read it on AO3 or SquidgeWorld.

Oh, I also wrote from scratch and posted (in an anonymous collection) a Dead Dove fic this week, which is incredibly encouraging, but I'm pretty sure now that I won't be able to do the numbers to bother with NaNo this year.

Watching

Supernatural Season 6. I'm definitely on a roll with this rewatch now. Castiel is a douchebag.

Also watching, with everyone else (it seems), House of the Dragon, Interview with the Vampire, The Winchesters, and I'm giving Walker: Independence a go but I'm honestly not sure if it's going to hold my attention.

Social Media

I'm getting really fucking pissed off with kids in fandom and on social media. I lost my temper this week 😬

*I've

Basically I'm done with children in fandom. I was certain levels of tolerant before, and I'm sure they're not all quite so disgusting as the ones who make the most noise, but the noisy ones have ruined it for all of them. Blocking on sight.
